Yolette Samuel Philogene

Who Was She?

Yolette S. Philogene was a true daughter of the city of Podpè. She was known as a very wise woman. She was born on August 15, 1963. Her father was Pierre Bogris Fils Aimé, and her mother was Clarisse Samuel.

Yolette completed her primary education in Podpè and continued her secondary studies at Collège Primat de l’Esprit.

On January 15, 1983, she married Parnel Philogene. Their union was blessed with two children: a daughter, Leenzda Joanne Philogene, and a son, Rudz Philogene.

Mrs. Parnel was a kind and loving person—a devoted mother who deeply cared for her children. She was also a servant of Jehovah.

What Did He Do?

Mrs. Parnel was loved by everyone. She had a beautiful smile and always enjoyed seeing others smile as well. She was a woman of remarkable humility.

She worked as a teacher at the Kay Sè School in Podpèand also offered her help to other schools in need.

Beyond education, she learned sewing and took great pleasure in designing beautiful dresses for all occasions. She was truly a talented and versatile woman.

In cooking, she was exceptional—her meals for any occasion were always appreciated.

Yolette also believed strongly in entrepreneurship, which led her to engage in small business activities.

Above all, she had strong faith in Jehovah and found great joy in preaching the good news wherever she went.

Yolette S. Philogene answered her final call on April 15, 1994. Although she is no longer with us, we want her family to know that Podpè was proud to have her as one of its daughters.

Who Was He?

Volvick Vainqeur was a true son of the city of Podpè. He was known as a very wise man.

He completed his primary education at Kay Frè School, where he studied from 7th grade through his Certificate. He began his secondary education in Podpè before continuing his studies in Cap-Haïtien.

He was married to SerzuliaVainqeur (mother of Zout), and their union was blessed with five children: four daughters and one son — Monet, Judith Agathe (Doudoune), Herold, Carmelite (deceased), and Yanick.

Volvick was a man of the people, respected and appreciated by all. He was also known for his intelligence, especially in academic matters, according to those who knew him.

What Did He Do?

Volvick Vainqeur was a devoted father and a highly respected figure in the city of Podpè. He had a strong presence in the community and was well loved by many.

He had a great passion for football (soccer), which led him to found a team called “Sajita Flèch.” This team became one of the most competitive and talked-about teams in the city during the late 1960s and early 1970s.

After Volvick fell ill, the team was later renamed “Tanpèt FC,” a well-known team from the lower part of the city.

Volvick was also among the first entrepreneurs in Podpè to own a large shoe store. His shop was located in the same building where Boss Thalès Philias had his business.

VolvickVainqeur answered his final call in March 1974. Although he is no longer with us, we want his family to know that Podpè was proud to have him as one of its sons.
